Winkk is an Author, Choreographer and Entrepreneur.  She is the author of the novels Misleading, Tour Secrets and Tour Secrets 2.  Once you open one of Winkk’s novels, you won’t be able to stop until you’ve navigated every twist, turn and tragedy in the lives of her relatable and fascinating characters.  Winkk’s deft storytelling has made her novels a rousing success.

Winkk has worked as a dancer and choreographer for some of today’s chart-topping recording artists including R. Kelly, Avant and Ronald Isley.  She has performed throughout the United States, Paris, Germany, Japan and Switzerland.   Winkk has created stage shows, show concepts and provided artist development for many entertainers.  She performed on numerous television programs including Oprah, BET, The Today Show, The Soul Train Music Awards and the Tom Joyner Morning Show.  In addition to having a successful dance career, Winkk was a cover model for Single Living and Being Single Magazines.  She also was a featured model in several publications including Ebony Magazine and was the print model for Affirm hair products.  She had a role in the movies Barbershop, Rock Da House and other independent films.

Winkk’s novels “Tour Secrets” and “Tour Secrets 2″ follows the lives and torrid love affairs of dancers and best friends, Raven and Music.  These novels flew off virtual shelves when they were published in 2009 and 2010, netting acclaim from outlets including Rolling Out, Power 92.3 FM, Parle Magazine and Raw TV.  Winkk was also nominated for the “Breakout Author of the Year” for the 2011 African American Literary Awards.  Urban Reviews awarded “Tour Secrets 2” a 4.5 on a 5-point reviewing scale, dubbing it a “near classic.”  The respected APOOO Book Club, one of the top 10 online sites for African American literature, offered the following accolades:  “I was emotionally exhausted when I finished reading because I could visualize the words coming to life.”

The latest novel, “Misleading” in which Winkk weaves the tale of Jarvis Denttin, an ambitious, self-absorbed club owner, is in high demand.  The main character, Jarvis, is obsessed with money and is a womanizer.  He surrounds himself with people he thinks he can trust, but they are only interested in seeing him fail.  He has a list of enemies and is unaware of their vengeful motives. The moral of the story is; watch your karma.   APOOO Book Club gave the following praises: “This was an exciting and entertaining book to read with an unsuspecting twist.  The characters were well developed.”   RWA Book Club  stated, “It’s a quick read with plenty of drama to keep you at the edge of your seat turning pages.  The book was well worth the read.”  AAMBC has nominated Misleading for Book of the Year.

Winkk follows that credo in her own life. That is why, despite dancing for some of the biggest names in R&B and modeling for Ebony magazine among others, she opted not to go the tell-all route.  Instead, Winkk focuses on fictionalized stories based on her experience and imagination.  Winkk also is building her brand beyond writing novels.  In 2011, she founded Ailam Publishing.  Winkk produces innovative video teasers  for each of her novels as part of her holistic literary vision.  She looks forward to writing more novels on different topics turning her stories into movies.    Watch Winkk video book trailers at http://www.youtube.com/winkktv

Along with writing, Winkk will continue to work as a choreographer, create stage shows and provide artist development, which is something she loves.  Winkk is currently working with John Ruffin Entertainment/Theater 47 as the choreographer for the broadway stage play “Dreamgirls”.  Winkk believes in supporting, motivating and inspiring others.  She is currently writing her next novel while juggling life as a wife, mother and entrepreneur.
